Bubbly, blonde singer-actress who went from big band songstress in the 1940s to movie stardom.

Her first movie was "Romance On the High Seas" (1948) with Jack Carson. My earliest memories are of her in "On Moonlight Bay" with Gordon MacRae (1951), "By The Light Of The Silvery Moon" (1952) again with Gordon MacRae and "Calamity Jane" (1953) with heartthrob Howard Keel.

Most fans remember her as the co-star who teamed with Rock Hudson in the 1959 film "Pillow Talk."

Over the years she also had many hit records including "Secret Love," "It's Magic," "Teacher's Pet," "Whatever Will Be, Will Be," "Love Me Or Leave Me" and "Lullabye of Broadway."
