Susie

Hi there

I recently purchased an old and tired doll from a recycling depot. I already have a few dolls, but something drew me to her, sitting in her filthy clothes, she was once someone's treasure.

I purchased her for $4.
At home, I started to explore markings and anything identifiable, I found she was clothed in bloomers, a chemise, petticoat, dress and apron, shoes, socks, and a headpiece.

The head is made of bisque, her body is a strange composition, almost wooden like and fully jointed. She is 29 inches long and is wearing a wig. On the back of her head reads: Made in Germany. JDK, 257. She is in great condition for her age.

I'm interested in any information about her, how old is she? does she have a model name? Her eyes don't close, she has painted eyelashes and "real eyelashes" were they added later?

Her clothes are all buttoned, no velcro, no elastic. Beautiful pin tucks, embroidery, and ribbon, these are somewhat stained from age spots and yellowing.

I've uploaded some photos and would be most grateful to find out anything at all about her.

Thank you

Susie
