Original F & B Babyette

by Ann Brown
(Michigan)

About 15 years ago, I went to an estate sale and in a box I found a very old babydoll. On the back of his head it reads F&B, he is adorable, can someone give me an idea of what I have here??

Will post a pic later.

F & B Babyette 1945 composition doll
by: Carole

I got this doll for my birthday (I'm 71 now) and can remember exactly how it looked in the basket. I had this doll until I was in my 30's then a niece borrowed it and that was the last I saw of it. I did buy a duplicate on eBay so was thrilled I was able to at least have a memory. If you do a regular search you will find a photo.

Babyette
by: Dr. E's Doll Museum

I'm eager to see a photo. Meanwhile, check the Effanbee doll company, online, or in books on dolls by Pat Smith, Patsy Moyers, Denise Van Patten and Jan Foulk. I think there is an entry for them, aka, Fleichaker and Baum [sp?] in Colemans Encyclopedia of Dolls, vol. 1.

F&B Babyette
by: Diane

F&B = Effanbee Doll Co. There is a 1945 F&B Babyette that is a sleeping closed eye baby. The closed eyes are painted on the composition face.

Yes, pictures please. "A picture is worth a thousand words."
