My Mom’s 1920’s Walking Doll

by Joan

I am going through my mom’s estate and found this doll. Mom was born in 1922 & I have a picture of her at about age 6 or 7 with the doll, so I am assuming the doll is from the 1920s.

She has no markings on her body or tags on her clothes, so I’m hoping someone can identify her.

The doll is 24” tall & is made of a hard, but hollow, plastic. Or, I should say that I think it’s plastic, but maybe thicker celluloid?
Her legs walk & her eyes open & close. She’s really a very pretty doll.

I have attached a picture.

I appreciate any help!

Might have made a midtake

I looked at the doll in my mom’s photo, again, & she looks similar, but not identical. I think that the prior post may be correct, in that she might be from the 50’s. There is no mark anywhere on her body nor is there a tag on her clothes. Originally, I thought she might be Patty Playpal, but doubted that because of thinking that the doll was in Mom’s 1920’s photo. I have no idea where she came from, as she was not my doll.

What 50’s doll didn’t come with any markings that she might be?

Thanks!

Her face reminds me more of 1950s. Check again for markings as she looks like an ebanbee
