Looking for a doll

Hi. I received a antique doll for my birthday in 1964. My parents purchased her at a local antique store for $100.

In 1968 I asked my mom to put my doll collection in a consignment shop because I needed the money. When my Mom went back to check on the dolls progress she was told that she never brought any dolls in.. My Mom never got a receipt.

I've looked and looked to replace that one doll but have never seen one like her. She was about 16" tall, had a dark green taffeta dress lined with lace ruffles. A dark green hat. I always thought of her as a can- can doll.

Does anyone have any ideas what she may be?

What an awful thing to happen! Without a photos, it is hard to tell. She could have been a German bisque doll, or maybe French? Are you sure of the date? She sounds like a vintage repro. doll, too, and these were expensive when new, and made from 1940s to the present day, in particular. Good luck finding her.
