Kestner 154(?)

by Andrew
(UK, England)

We have inherited this doll which I understand from a Museum specialist is a Kestner, and it does look like a 154 mold to me.

We would like to sell it, it scares my daughter when the eyes move.. but I don't know anything about dolls really. Any advice?

sell her to me??
by: Rosemary

Hello,
You can sell her on
www.Ebay.com or on
www.Ebay.co.uk which is the same but for UK mainly.
or
Ebay Germany: www.ebay.de/
Put a Reserve on her and take decent pictures:)

The doll market is very different in the US to the UK... and of course over here there are more people so more dolls. I find the dolls here much cheaper to buy but then we have the advantage of the money exchange :)
(I live about 6 mths uk then 6 mths US)
or
You could sell her to me :) I have a large collection of dolls and pay well ...
(but darent put my email address on here)

I do have a close up of the head but did not realise that I could only post one photo at a time. I will add the close up asap.

Kestner doll - need a better picture
by: Anonymous

I wish I could see a close up of the face and back of the head. kestners are usually marked with a mold number. It is definitely not a 154, as those were shoulder head dolls - not socket head dolls. If you have not found out anything more - you can send me information about the markings on the back of the head. I will try to remember to check back here to see if you reply to this, since I do not want to post my name or email. I have been a doll dealer in the past and I collect, so I have some knowledge that might help.

also - look at the mouth. All Kestner dolls have a distinctive sharp upturn to the corners of the mouth. Once you have seen it - it is unmistakable. that is why a close up of the face would be nice if there are no other id marks on the back.
