heinrich handwerck doll with photograph of previous owner

(England Uk)

Hi have what I believe is a beautiful Heinrich Handwerck doll. Her mold number is 99/12 with made in Germany on the back.

She came to me via an auction complete with a photograph of the young lady that owned it.

On the body is written the name of the lady that must have purchased it for her daughter with the price of 1 English shilling and the name of the purchaser plus some other figures as well.

She also came with two pairs of exquisite baby shoes and some of her original clothing. She has the most beautiful toddler body very fat. Her pale bisque head and large bulbous glass eyes are exquisite.

Sadly she has a hair line crack around the neck and up the back of the neck but she is so adorable I just had to have her. Hopefully she will be repairable, but this is not a detriment to the whole effect as the cracks are well hidden.

I believe this to be a Heinrich doll but not sure as at first I thought it was a Hertal Schwarb.

Doll made in germany 99/12
by: Anonymous

After researching my 99/12 Made in germany doll, and finding your post, I wanted to let you know that, as far as I can tell from information on the internet, that
you are right on both accounts. Our doll molds were from Hertel Schwab made for Koenis and Wernicks,
and from Heinrich Handwerk. I looked up "Doll Made in germany 99/12" on the internet and found the antique originals and repros. Hope this helps, enjoy your doll!
