Hard baby doll with softer head

I have this doll that I got from my husbands mother she is 85, she doesn't know where she got it or when. Could have been her daughters who is in her 40s.

I want to know what it is as I want to make an outfit for it that would look somewhat original ,to give it as a surprise to my Stepdaughter. So she can have it as a keepsake.

I have looked for this doll but can't find one that looks just like it. It is about 11 inches long has a hole in her mouth and a hole in her bottom, there is also a hole in her upper back with metal around it. None of her limbs move but her head does.

The head has molded hair and is softer then the body. The body is not a hard plastic but more like a hard vinyl or something like that. The eyes do not close.

I would like to know what she was called and what she may have been wearing when new.

I hope this is enough information. Thank You

Our daughter had one.

My daughter had a doll like that, it came with a bottle and a pair of diapers... you could feed her and then it would go thru... but when Jana fed her milk... oh, oh the stink... I would run water thru but after a time....didn't help...

Jana was born in 1965 and probably got the doll about 1972... so it really isn't too old.. she had a pink bonnet, shirt in pink and diapers and booties as I remember..

Hope this helps... Mary Ann

Hard Baby Doll with softer head

The darling doll does have a vinyl head. She would be dressed in a matching dress and bonnet or a long christening outfit. Since her limbs are not posable, she would be dressed as a baby in the lying down position.

Look at pictures of Tiny Tears and Betsy Wetsy to get some ideas.
