Antique Doll

About 20 years ago, I purchased an old doll in Guelph Ontario Canada, and have kept it in a dark cabinet ever since. She appears to be a 12" paper mache doll with straw body but arms/legs/shoes are of a hard material--possibly bisque.

She is wearing the original dress which may be 1890's circa. She has a marking of a 7 in the European style (line through the middle of it), a line beneath, then and a backwards D shape beneath the line. Her eyes are black (no lids) and may be glass.

She had the remnant of straight "real" hair but I put a woollen curly wig over her years ago. Her brows/lips/cheeks are painted but not in good shape. I would appreciate any info you may have on her origins.

Thanks,

Deborah
