7" bisque & sawdust

I inherited this doll from my grandmother, who played with it when she was a child in the early 1900s.

The head & hands are bisque and the legs are sawdust (I think). She has what appears to be real hair. The dress is not original: my mother made it.

She has a mark on the back of her neck (see pic). My mother thought it was of French origin (but that was well before the internet).
