4" bisque & sawdust

I inherited this doll from my grandmother, who played with it when she was a child in the early 1900's.

The head/shoulders, hands, and feet are bisque and the legs are disintegrating sawdust (I think). The dress is not original: my mother made it.

I can find no mark on any part of her. My mother thought it was of German origin (but that was well before the internet).
