Sometimes referred to as "Sonja Skater" I prefer to think of the figure skaters as "Nancy Lee" . Figure skating in the late 1930's and early 1940's was at a peak due to the popularity of Sonja Henie, Olympic figure skating champion.
A treasure to behold is the darling redhead skater with her trunk of clothing. She has brilliant blue tin eyes. Clothing and doll are very close to the condition in which they were purchased long ago. Even though many old dolls have lost their original clothing, the ability to shop online makes it fairly easy to dress a doll in suitable replacement garments. Often I purchase nude R&B dolls as I truly enjoy dressing them in adult 1940's fashions. As this site progresses, I will take you along to shop on eBay for appropriate vintage clothing to dress a nude doll.
The 1940's vintage suits were created long ago from a pattern for Effanbee's Little Lady. They are just so striking on R&B dolls, Little Lady had to resort to other fashions in the closet. Vintage fur coats and purses complete the "look" of the 40's. The girl in mink coat and hat also wears a "V" for "Victory" pin. This Arranbee Doll Fashions outfit is very similar to those worn by my mother.
