I've heard that Raving beauty dolls were the strung dolls and that Miss Gadabout were the walking dolls, swinging their heads in sync with their leg movements. Can anyone confirm that? I love these dolls, their pretty faces and gorgeous outfits are a joy to collect. Can anyone point me to a website where I can see more of these, including some more outfits? any information would be very much appreciated. Thanks so much, happy dollying! Elizabeth

Do you know if this doll had a bright yellow and blue alpine ski jumpsuit with yellow unattached hat that snaps under the chin. The jumpsuit has a zipper down the front. There is a bit of red trim around the blue bolero top on the jumpsuit. No tags but factory made in near perfect condition.

This is such a nice forum! Love hearing all the stories about all of your RB dolls. I too collect vintage HP dolls. Effanbee's Honey was my favorite, but the first time I saw the Raving Beauty doll, I knew I had to start a small collection and now have 3 of them. So beautiful! Also, the first thing I did was research this doll, and found all the information about the maker. Born and raised here in So Cal myself so go ahead and call me a Raving Beauty too! :) Love her story, love this doll!

But back to Carol...I'm sorry but I must say I do not like or appreciate your post. It seems obvious that you purchased your girl so you can start making and selling 'reproduction' clothing for her and oops...posted your message with your etsy shop twice. I collect these vintage, hard plastic play dolls from the 50s. Some I clean up and re sell, BUT I ALWAYS try to find an original outfit, or an 'age appropriate' dress. Age appropriate meaning a true and authentic 'vintage' 1940s or 1950s dress that this doll would have possibly came in or had in her wardrobe. Certainly not a reproduction of an old dress. That is Not vintage.

I'm new to the Artisan Raving Beauty dolls--but have my first girl arriving soon:) I design and make clothing for many of the 40's-50's dolls and am adding Raving Beauty to my line up. I often will make custom dresses to order should one want to have a reproduction dress made for a special doll.
