Need help identifying and valuing a German (?) doll

by Steve Buchanan
(Bristol, VA)

This doll came to me from the estate of a former employee of our church - the doll was apparently purchased in Germany in 1958 by a lady in England and mailed to the US in a custom made wooden box - an accompanying letter from England dated November 1958 attests to these facts.

The doll looks virtually untouched and has a mark on the back of her neck. The attached pictures show MS 10 with the S under and inside the M. She is 20 inches tall.

Thank you in advance for your help!
