China Head with Braided hair

I purchased this doll at an auction, but have not been able to identify her. Someone suggested she could be a Japanese china head, but I have found nothing on Japanese China Head dolls. Hope someone can help me identify her.

She is on a replaced body, has black hair braided down the back of her head. She has black eyes with a very narrow blue rim around the black, and a white dot in the center of the eye. Eyebrows are arched and she has the pale red line defining her eyelid and peach colored lips.

There is paint loss to the hair at the high points of the braid. She is 18" tall and has china hands and legs.
