Here is the second history installment of many doll and doll related online auction sales. Hopefully, many questions about values can be answered here and in the up-coming additions to this website.
For those of you planning online auction sales, this may serve as a guide as well.
We are also interested in your online selling experience, whether it be VIA online auctions, or just a straight selling web site, perhaps your own website.
There is a form below which you can use to tell us about your online selling experience.
The following information is important:
A good picture, one picture per form only (if you are able to cut and paste several pictures into one picture - that will work)
A good description:
The website it sold on:
The price it sold for:
The category it sold in:
How many bids:
Was it a “buy it now”?:
If it was sold on your very own website - include you website URL and we will provide a link from our site to yours - please, it needs to be an antique and collectible doll site.
We would love to hear about your online selling experiences, the "I didn't know it was that valuable", or "who would have thought it would go to that country". Would you like to share with other visitors to this page? If so...

Here is the auction description:
Virga Dolls
Mae West
Probably late 1940's .....
Approximately 7" tall.
All hard plastic.
Jointed arms and head....stiff legs.
Her eyes are stuck open.....
Nice dress .....satin and net.
Hat is velvet.....and feathers are moulting.
Box has paper wear......cellophane window intact.
A hard to find doll.

I am certain I paid more.......but will never get around to "meeting her needs".
Beautiful face.
Marked only: 7 Made in Germany (I think a 7 at the end)
Kestner?????
Sleep eyes, shoulderhead on slim waist fashion type leather body.
I don't see any chips or cracks on head......do not have a black light to check more thoroughly.
Her upper arms are wound with Scotch tape ....probably to stop the sawdust leaking.
I think the upper leather will need to be replaced.....but am not going to pull tape away to look.
Although her bisque hands appear to match......one appears to be fully painted......either a replacement or painted maybe. It is pink.....the other looks "washed".
Her knees........one will need a few stitches on back to secure a bit more.
I found a new dress to send with her.....and a more recent wig. Slip may be vintage.
A fixer......but simple fixes.I was told she was an "attic find" when I bought her.......
