1950s Dolls of Italian Make??

by Jackie
(NJ)

I'm trying to identify and value two dolls. From what I've found, I'm leaning toward Italian make, 1950s, hard plastic.

They have voice or cry boxes on their tummies, "flirty" eyes whose lids close, gauzy stapled undergarments, and dresses that cannot be removed unless the stitching on the top back is cut.

Hair is glued on. Nostrils and fingernails are painted, and there are small red painted dots to the inside of each eye. The taller is about 18"; the smaller, 16". I can't find any markings.

Any help is much appreciated!
